Alphabet Safari
An
Alphabet Safari is a great way to spend the day creating art (and memories) with your kids or friends. Armed with a camera and a train ticket, Riley (10), Abi (8) and I trekked around
Brisbane city taking photos of all the letters of the alphabet. Ignoring the strange looks we were getting, we photographed interesting street signs, posters, buildings and shop signage. To make it more challenging, the game was to find the letters in the right order. You could even make it a race if you have more than one camera and enough people for teams! There are heaps of different variations, for example you could find numbers from one to 100, create nonsense poetry or find the letters to your name.
I designed the poster using Adobe Indesign but you could use any design program or even make an animation or slide show.
We all had an excellent day doing this creative project together and I would love to see some others from different cities around the world. So get your cameras and get out there! You can buy this as a print or better still make your own photo montage of the alphabet as a way to document your city and your day. If you e-mail me your Alphabet Safari I will post it on this website.
This is available to buy as a 17 x 22 inch print from Society6 for about $20.
